Tukies serves coconut in so many ways, but I decided to stick with a fresh, whole one. The staff opened it with a machete to order.


All three of the hostels I’ve stayed at so far in Indonesia have offered a laundry service for 50000 IDR (~$3.50). I give them my laundry, and they return it clean by the next day. So convenient!
















I just went to Sayan Night Market, an open-air street food market where locals congregate in the evenings. No pictures; I was too busy enjoying the food! The strangest dish I tried was pisang keju: battered and fried bananas, topped with condensed milk, chocolate shavings, and grated cheese (I think it was cheddar), an unusual combination of flavors that works surprisingly well!

I can take cash advances on my credit card, so I’m not screwed, just paying a bit more for my money. That said, I’ll definitely bring a backup debit card on my next trip.
