Warung Eropa

I just experienced some of the best restaurant service of my life at Warung Eropa in Seminyak. I went to try their famous fried duck, and ordered some sides as well. Surprised by my adventurous order of salted duck egg, the manager, David, came over and gave me a tour of the menu, describing several traditional Indonesian dishes/desserts. Based on his recommendation, I tried the bubur sumsum.

It was so delicious, I asked for the recipe. Simply simmer the following over low heat until thick:

At Warung Eropa, it was served with palm syrup and jackfruit, but I’m sure it would also be tasty with honey, maple syrup, or other sweeteners.

Here’s a picture of me David took for the restaurant’s Instagram:

  1. You look so happy and healthy. Some of the ingredients in the dessert recipe are not standard for the US but I am going to go on a hunt to find them (Amazon?..) so we can try this together when you get back. I just love how open you are to every experience.
